When a connected vehicle is not in use, the OBD device goes into sleep mode. In sleep mode, the device only draws a very small amount of power from the battery to transmit periodic health checks.
If a vehicle is going to be parked for an extended period (such as several weeks), the device might accelerate ordinary battery drain on weaker or older batteries. If this is the case, the customer should be advised to unplug the device until they resume operating the vehicle.
NOTE: One of the primary functions of the health check is to update the customer on the health of the vehicle's battery, so if the battery is losing too much charge, the app will notify them of this situation.
